Overview
Imagine an unspoilt island within a Marine National Park, deserted beaches of pure white sand that extend for miles, sparkling turquoise seas crisscrossed by local dhows plying their trade, sunny days and star studded nights…and you have Azura Mozambique.
Just 16 villas are nestled along one of the last undiscovered stretches of beach in the world, with all the creature comforts you could wish for, sparkling private pools, Mozambican Butler-hosts to look after your every need, fish and seafood fresh from the ocean, a fantastic range of activities and experiences, an African spa to relax in, all at a community based project where the local islanders benefit as much as you. Azura is paradise found.
Accommodation
The hand built villas blend modern chic with all that is traditional in Mozambique. The creature comforts you would expect from a luxury boutique resort are there, set off by locally sourced wooden beams and traditional artwork beneath a thatched jekka roof.
Each is just footsteps from the beach, yet designed with seclusion in mind. Nestled amidst indigenous gardens, they have been created as your own personal sanctuary. A haven of rest and relaxation, where you can feel at one with the environment. A fusion of indoor and outdoor space where time becomes your own.
Wander down to the pristine white beach and welcoming azure sea beyond. Lounge around on plump cushions on your daybed, or tan in private and cool off in your sparkling plunge pool. Dine on your deck, or sip the cocktail of the day in your beach-side Sala as the sun goes down. Lie in your bath and gaze at the view, or shower beneath the stars. Do whatever you want to do.

Set in a fantastic location at the end of the property next to the Spa, it is wonderfully private and perfect for honeymooners. The Beach Villa is the smallest of our villas, but still offers all of the creature comforts.

They are furnished in afro-contemporary style and look out over a stunning infinity pool towards the beach and sea beyond. They have the best of our beachfront locations.

Villa Amizade
Villa Amizade means friendship villa in our native Portuguese. This 2 bedroom en-suite villa is located at the western end of the property, with fantastic views out to sea and towards the setting sun.
It is perfect for families or a couple requiring more of a private residence feel.

Presidential Villa
The Presidential Villa at Azura has been described as one of the best villas anywhere in the Indian Ocean. It has a very secluded private location, some 150m down the beach from main Azura, and comes with its own Butler-host and private chef. It’s the beach house of your dreams.
The epitome of style and luxury, with its own unique décor, there are 3 en-suite bedrooms, indoor and outdoor bathrooms, a media room, sitting/dining area with ‘wine bar’, and huge infinity pool spanning the front of the villa.
It is located just footsteps from the beach at the end of our property to ensure maximum privacy, with a fantastic treehouse to catch the afternoon breezes and panoramic views to Bazaruto Island and the Indian Ocean beyond.

A kaleidoscope of colour greets you above and below the ocean. Magnificent reefs for diving and snorkelling, home to the turtles that nest on the island’s outer shores. Migrating whales, dolphins, and the elusive and protected dugong ply these waters, along with marlin, sailfish and tuna to tempt the sports fishermen.

Butler Hosts
At Azura they care about making your stay special. This starts with providing a Mozambican Butler-host to look after you during your stay. They’ll take care of you during your time at Azura, including serving your meals, running down the beach with a table and chairs if you want lunch at the water’s edge, or serving the cocktail of the day to your beach-side Sala as the sun goes down
They are part of Azura’s commitment to the community and upliftment of the country’s people. Many of them have very little in the way of formal education, but they have a genuine warmth and friendliness, and will delight in looking after you. They don’t always get it 100% right, but that’s all part of the charm. They have big smiles and even bigger stories to share with you. Our guests come to love them so much they often ask to take them home!
The whole team at Azura makes looking after you their priority. The chef will chat about your favourite foods, the watersports team will take you out exploring our amazing marine world, the community leader will show you village life, and the spa girls will help you relax, even more than you already are in this barefoot paradise.
